Primarily, Ode To The Marionette includes writers/performers Julia Brochey (Bro-shay) and Christian Lowsley. Brochey, known for her near five octave range and heavily artistic song/music writing, and Lowsley, known for his vast electronic and acoustic drumming capabilities and electronic compositions, compose together using various electronic and acoustic instruments. Lowsley was trained in jazz and classical music and plays a number of instruments, including piano, drums, marimba, and vibraphone. Brochey is classically trained in piano, guitar, and voice (though voice is her main instrument). The influences of their musical backgrounds come forth in Ode To The Marionette which includes deep dark beats infused with classical and world sounds. When playing live, the two piece becomes four - Lowsley on drums, Brochey on vocals, a bass player, and a keyboard player.
