Scarlet Slipping began in 1995 at age 17 under the name “The Dragon Queen”. This was a performance of half nude gory theatrics featuring Wagner’s vocals backed by her electronic drum programming and synths.
Soon thereafter the project toned down to more of a cabaret type performance and the project was renamed “Scarlet Slipping”.
In 1996 Scarlet Slipping opened for Santa Barbara darkwave band Trance To The Sun while they toured promoting their latest release 'Venomous Eve'. Soon after Wagner joined Trance To The Sun and was the fronting vocalist for the 1997 release 'Delirious' followed by a mini tour of the West coast. Wagner departed TTTS and has continued her work with the Scarlet Slipping project.
All music and recordings are self produced in Minneapolis and Scarlet Slipping is now one of the founding bands on Shinto Records.

REVIEWS
Heathen Harvest Review Of Hound
"Musically, this album ranks amongst the best in the ethereal genre. It doesn't simply use effects as a disguise, rather, the music itself is the effect, and the listener is the instrument, running the gauntlet of emotions expressed throughout."
Regen Magazine Review Of Hound
"With their album, Hound, Scarlet Slipping successfully displays a beautifully transitional fountain of gothic and darkwave music. Tears swirl through the flowing waters of their vocals, as if they are an instrumental themselves, whispering in the background. It is a pained album that tells a beautiful story."
Synthpop Review Of Fire In The Mist
"Her style of music would probably be best categorized as Gothic, but it has a orchestral quality to it that I haven't heard in many other Gothic artists." "Dawn's vocals have a delicate, almost fragile quality to them, almost like if she pushed her voice much it would shatter. Her vocals remind me somewhat of Fiona Apple or early Jewel. The music complements her voice in a oddly compelling way, with a eerily ominous quality in just about every track."
